Location and access count. Good people have to be there.
Infrastructure matters. Business costs need to be reasonable. When you think about a location for your logistics/ distribution operation, think Ontario East. We are ready for you.
Location and Transportation

From Ontario East, you have overnight surface delivery to 62% of Canadians, including those in three of Canada’s four largest markets – and we can offer a low-cost, stable environment for service to Québec and the Maritimes. Ontario East has 607 kilometers (380 miles) of four and six-lane, limited access freeways, including Highway 401, the backbone of the Québec City to Windsor/Detroit corridor. In the HAFTA Rail corridor, we have rail links through CN, Canadian Pacific Railway and many shortline railroads. In or adjacent to our region are three international cargo airports and three ports that handle ocean-going vessels.
Our efficient road border crossings include Canada’s fifth busiest crossing, the Lansdowne/Alexandria (Thousand Islands Bridge), which connects with US Interstate 81. This is just one of a number of routes you can use to access Boston, New York City, Richmond, Pittsburgh, Columbus and Fort Wayne.
The Workforce
Ontario East offers an educated, skilled and highly motivated workforce featuring lower average pay rates for logistics sector workers than you’ll find in nearby cities. The work ethic here is strong - and so is our sense of loyalty. These help keep productivity high and turnover low.
Infrastructure
Ontario East’s growing logistics/distribution sector occupies more than 30 million sq.ft. of warehouse/distribution, third-party logistics and public warehousing space. Dozens of truck operators, including those offering cold storage transport, serve regional, national and international markets from bases here. Our complete network of support services includes regional courier hubs, welding, machining and fabricating shops, customs brokers, and the full range or maintenance services, including lifttruck repair. In addition, economic development agencies are in place to offer guidance.
